Beaches Engineering

How it works

From an address to something useful.

Tell us the property and what you are trying to do. We’ll help you work out the rest.

  1. 01

    Tell us the property

Enter the address. If it is within our Northern Beaches service area, we create the property record and start there.

  2. 02

Tell us what you are doing

Renovating. Building. Buying. Adding a pool. Fixing drainage. Responding to Council. You do not need to know which engineering service to ask for.

  3. 03

    We check what is known

We bring together the available property, planning, flood, bushfire, heritage, coastal, and other relevant information. Sources are dated. If something is missing or uncertain, we say so.

  4. 04

We work out what comes next

For straightforward matters, a checklist may be enough. For a defined question, send an enquiry and we will quote an engineer-assisted job. For larger work, we scope a full engineering engagement.

  5. 05

    You keep the record

Your BeachCheck, documents, and issued work stay with the property. Come back to it later, share it with your architect or builder, and build on it as the project develops.

Why a coastal lot is not a template

Collaroy-Narrabeen is still live.

Northern Beaches Council names three NSW Government coastal erosion hotspots: Collaroy-Narrabeen, Bilgola, and Basin Beach at Mona Vale. The June 2016 east coast low cut the Collaroy-Narrabeen shoreline back by about 46 metres in published estimates and damaged beachfront houses. Council’s seawall financial assistance scheme still accepts claims on completed works through 31 December 2026.

That is why a coastal layer on BeachCheck is a map, not a design. Flood levels and lagoon catchments wait until an engineer adopts a figure.
